Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)

Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth leader of the United States and one of the considerable American pioneers. His administration was ruled by the American Civil War.

Abraham Lincoln was conceived on 12 February 1809 close Hodgenville, Kentucky. He was raised in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois. His folks were poor pioneers and Lincoln was to a great extent self-taught. In 1836, he qualified as a legal advisor and went to work in a law hone in Springfield, Illinois. He sat in the state lawmaking body from 1834 to 1842 and in 1846 was chosen to Congress, speaking to the Whig Party for a term. In 1856, he joined the new Republican Party and in 1860 he was made a request to keep running as their presidential competitor.

In the presidential battle, Lincoln made his resistance to subjection clear. His triumph incited an emergency, with numerous southerners expecting that he would endeavor to abrogate bondage in the South. Seven southern states left the Union to shape the Confederate States of America, otherwise called the Confederacy. Four more joined later. Lincoln promised to protect the Union regardless of the possibility that it implied war.

On 9 April 1865, the Confederate general Robert E Lee surrendered, successfully finishing the war. It had gone on for over four years and 600,000 Americans had passed on. Not as much as after seven days, Lincoln was shot while going to an execution at Ford's Theater in Washington DC and passed on the following morning, 15 April 1865. His professional killer, John Wilkes Booth, was a solid supporter of the Confederacy.
